Keri Demos, the owner and mother of four boys, created StoryPlay in 2010. “I was looking for this type of programming for my youngest son and was unable to find it locally. I decided the answer was to start my own class.” It began with an interactive story time for 3 & 4 year-olds. There were so many requests for a class for younger children that the Toddler class was added in 2012.

“Ms. Keri”, as the students call her, is a graduate of Towson State University with a BS in Adaptive Physical Education and from Johns Hopkins with a Masters degree in Early Childhood Special Education with a specialty in autism. She taught at the Kennedy Krieger Institute Autism Center before leaving to do private practice research in the field of autism.

What Do Parents Have to Say About StoryPlay?

StoryPlay creates a fun, social environment where my child feels comfortable to express herself. Watching her learn though interactive play is the best! She doesn’t even realize there is a lesson  inside each activity because she’s having so much fun! -Holly (mom of Olivia 3 years)

I love StoryPlay because it reinforces the basics for my daughter.  The basic concepts of following directions, cleaning up, and  sharing while using dramatic play are helpful in her development. -Jamie (National Board Certified Teacher 10 years; mom of Tori 18 months)

Thank you so much for StoryPlay. I can tell you how much fun this is for  my granddaughter and me. She has learned a lot from this program and I can see the changes since her first day. StoryPlay is a great program for children to play, have fun, and interact with others their age. -Nanny Clara (grandmother of Lily age 4)

I started StoryPlay with my daughter Corinne (who has Down Syndrome) when she was 2 to get her ready for preschool. She did not like StoryPlay at first but after several tough weeks she started to get the routine of the class and loved it! We continued StoryPlay for 3 years. I was sad to say goodbye to the class this spring only because Corinne will start Kindergarten in the Fall. The class is a great combination of preschool concepts, songs, fine motor skills, sharing and play! –Abby (mom of Corinne age 5)

I am so happy to see how much Sam has grown since we started going to StoryPlay. As his caregiver I see how much he has learned from the program. I highly recommend the class and am happy to say a friend of mine enrolled her children and loves StoryPlay too! -Jo (caregiver of Sam age 2)

We started StoryPlay when my daughter was just 16 months old.  She learned to share, to speak in a group, and to sit for group time.  And at 3 1/2, she now has the most wonderful vocabulary and social skills!   Thank you, Keri, for the fabulous work you do through StoryPlay! -Krista (mom of Sarah age  3.5)
