When do I pay for the party?
A 50% Non-Refundable Deposit is required to secure the party date/time at the time of booking. The remaining 50% balance of the party is due in the form of cash or credit card on the day of the event.
Can I change the date and/or time of my party?
Depending upon availability, we will work with you to reschedule your party time and/or date as needed due to inclement weather, or documented illness, or family emergency. Other party changes will be considered as long as a two week notice is given.
Is The Playroom open to the public during birthday parties?
The Playroom is open to the public for Drop-In Play during regular birthday parties. However, we will waitlist Drop-In admission when we reach a self-imposed child capacity for the safety and enjoyment of all our guests. The party includes a ½ hour private use of the party room. During Private Birthday Parties, you will have the facility to yourself.
What time should I show up for the party?
We recommend arriving 10 minutes prior to your party to sign-in and unload food and party items to your room. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to your party to avoid a waiting period to enter The Playroom. We suggest you have your guests show up at the starting party time.
Are there any instructions I should relay to my guests prior to the party?
Please instruct your guests to arrive promptly to sign-in at the front desk. Children will need socks to wear in The Playroom; no shoes please.
What if there is inclement weather the day of my party?
If there is inclement weather the day of your party, please check our website for up-to-date notices for late openings and closings, and alert your guests to do the same. A Playroom staff member will also call you if a late opening or closure affects your party directly.
How many adults can come to the party?
We require that you limit the number of adults to the number of child party guests, plus an additional five. Therefore, if you have 20 children party guests, a maximum of 20 adults would be allowed. Private birthday parties do not limit the number of adults.
Do children under 1 count towards the party guest total?
Children under 1 and over 12 (including adults) do not count toward your paid party guest total. 20 children, ages 1-12, are included in the party package. Additional children can be added for a maximum of 24 total paid party guests (ages 1-12) at an additional fee of $12/child during regular birthday parties and for $15/child during private birthday parties.
Can parents drop their children off for the party?
As long as you assume the responsibility of watching your party guests, parents can drop off children to your party assuming a ratio of 5 children per adult is maintained.
What should we wear?
Comfortable clothing. We are a no shoes facility and everyone entering The Playroom must be wearing socks.
Who will set up and clean up all of the decorations I bring?
The Playroom staff will do all of the set up and clean up at the end of the party!
Is it okay to tip the party staff ?
Absolutely! If you feel our staff has done a good job, please feel free to kindly tip them for their services. Gratuity is not expected, but is always appreciated.
When calling to book your party, please inquire about purchasing specialty Pinatas or cupcakes through one of our recommended vendors.
I just wanted to reach out and let you know the phenomenal experience that my wife and I had today with a birthday party for our daughter Emma. I did not think to remember the names of the two people you had work the party but I need to tell you how truly incredible they were. One was I believe new or training but still displaced a genuine desire to be as helpful as possible. Your more senior employee who I regret not getting her name was just beyond words helpful and kind. She took care of every single detail with precision and a desire to make the party as fun for the kids and as easy for the parents as possible. Please know both of these employees are an asset to your business and we will shout from the rooftops how great the playroom is not only as a birthday party location but as a business in general. Please thank your employees for the wonderful job they did and thanks for opening a great space like this for Harford County.
